Overview
The exported Z9 EC carrier-based, ASW helicopter is a light twin model designed and manufactured by AVIC HAIG. It features single rotor, fenestron tail rotor, and retractable landing gear and bilateral torpedo pylon.
Equipped with advanced integrated avionics, torpedoes, dipping sonar, search radar system, the model is capable of dual-pilot operations, IFR and all-weather operations as well as submarine search and attack operations, day or night.
The primary mission of Z9 EC ASW helicopter is to search the waters within 50km around the carrier for the underwater or surface submarine by means of dipping sonar system and airborne radar, and attack the enemy submarine by airborne torpedoes once the target is detected. As a secondary mission, it can also conduct maritime surveillance, communications and transportation, etc.
